Car of the Month - March 2004
Seth S. and Bobbie Sabine's 1977 Ghia

Hello fellow 'lost pony' lovers. This is our 1977 Mustang II GHIA. We have owned if for about 3 years now. We were fortunate enough to find it, and rescue it from a young driver who would have quite possibly destroyed it from the way he drove it. After he got his $3000 speed racing ticket, he had to sell the car. My wife saw it parked in the Court House parking lot while the kid was making his court appearance. She offered to buy it from him, and a deal was made.

It is a mostly stock 302 V-8 with the C-4 automatic transmission. The car is very fast, and turns allot of heads when it is taken out (only on NICE days).

It needs very little restoration work aside from a new paint job, and a new vinyl top. The interior is in almost perfect shape.

In the pictures you will notice the ORIGINAL FORD child safety seat known as the 'TOT GUARD'. This is a very rare, and unusual accesory item that was offered for use in the Mustang II, Pinto, and other FORD automobiles of that era. Our 'TOT GUARD' is in perfect shape, and came with the original box, and literature. The 'TOT GUARD' is much different from todays child safety seats, and is not legal to actually use now. It is a great piece of MUSTANG II nostalgia though.

Plans for the car include new paint of the same color blue, and a new vinyl top. New carpet and dash pad are also in the works.

The car is a joy to drive, and is one of THREE Mustang II's that we own. Thanks for looking, and enjoy!
